Depending upon mailpiece weight and service requirements, IDS enters your mail either by a U.S. Postal Service method or Direct Entry. Direct Entry is where your mail is deposited into Canada Post, bypassing our domestic mail system. IDS recently opened a new state-of-the-art facility, a Canadian Processing Center in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Data Services - LCP Letter Carrier Presort
Prior to addressing, the mailing list can be sorted for Canada Post letter carrier routes, for the lowest possible postage costs. Delivery is enhanced for lettermail, advertising and publications mail when mail preparation is at the highest quality. List services include:

NDG Presort
When no list presortation is available, mail is sorted by hand. Called National Distribution Guide (NDG) sortation at Canada Post, we follow all of the Canada Post rules for the best possible delivery of magazines, catalogs and directories.

Classes of Canadian Mail
Lettermail - Priority handling of mail, delivery 3-7 days in-home. First class mail is personal in nature or for mail that needs fast delivery. Types of mailpieces include: invoices, correspondence, annual reports, proxy statements, time sensitive printed matter and small packets.
Publications Mail - Canada Post's program for Periodical Mail, delivery 4-15 days in-home. This is mail for magazines and newsletters with editorial content, advertising that does not exceed 70 percent. Mailpiece weight is less than three pounds.
Addressed Admail - Canada Post's program for Standard Mail, delivery 4-15 days in-home. Advertising Mail where the mailpiece weight is less than one pound. Mail must be addressed and bears a uniform message, such as catalogs, direct mail, directories, manuals and listings.
Catalogue Mail - Canada Post's program for Bound Printed Matter, delivery 4-15 days in-home. This is for Advertising or directory mail that is over one pound in weight.
Parcel Mail - Canada Post's program for packages of printed materials or merchandise. Large volume package mail offers drop shipping for local rates and delivery times. Categories include:
- Expedited - packages are barcoded and traceable (tracking is available on the internet) with up to next day delivery, 1-3 days average delivery in Ontario, up to 9 days in outlying provinces.
- Premium and Express - packages with 1-2 day delivery in larger cities in Canada.
Shipping Services, bulk skid delivery is available to any Canadian destination address.
